Eccolo (here it is)

Eccolo:
Here it is:

Following the new tunisian crochet project: a bag, even if at moment it is more similar to a three color carpet....

Rollino (Rolled)

My scarflet, ehm... neckwarmer, in tunisian crochet is done and I must say that it's really nice. Notes on tunisian crochet:
1) use a huge hook. Huge means HUGE. I worked a fingering weight yarn with a 5 mm hook, and I have a loose tension in my hand...
2) it's easy and rewarding, mindless but not boring. Give a look on Ravelry's projects in the Tunisian crochet group to have an overview of the hundreds of possibilities and diverse stitches.
3) Hems tend to curl a lot. This is why I have damped it a bit and rolled in the opposite direction of curling. It works.
4) I casted on 20 sts and succeeded in working with a normal hook. Of course, for bigger projects it will be necessary the tunisian hook.
Now I just need to sew in the loose ends and attach two buttons.

A night in Tunisia

"A night in Tunisia": this could be the name of my new project. I'm in permanent search of simpler and simpler passtimes, given my current state of tiredness and lack of concentration, and I have come to tunisian crochet. It's easy, effective, and most of all there's no need to turn, and turn, and turn the work again. This means that I can do it while laying on my bed, just before falling asleep. I had a ball of unknow blended yarn in my favourite hues, casted on 20 sts and crocheted in basic stitch for a while. This is what I ended up with: 15 cm of a scarfish stripe.

Navajo

Almost no time to spin, so I have begun to ply my silk singles only yesterday (late night...). It has been my first try at navajo plying on a splindle: a mess at start, but at last I succeeded in getting the hang of it. This is the result: not uniform in WPI and thickness, but the colors pleasantly flow from rose to pale yellow. I still have more of it to ply, hope to do better.

Bella bella bella!

La monetina è da 1 centesimo.
The coin is 1 eurocent.
Silk, handpainted top and top whorl spindle from Knotmydayjob.
It's gorgeous, but I must confess that spindle spinning is an extremely slow job.
Maybe I deserve a wheel.
