Devo dire che una volta indossato dal bimbo non è male, tranne le maniche che sono un pò cortine ma essendo lavorato dal collo in giù gliele potrò allungare l'anno prossimo.

I must say that once upon the kid the look is not bad, except for the sleeves, a bit too short. Fortunately it's worked from the top down and I will be able to elongate them next winter.

Adesso devo studiare. Now I must study.

Icelandic Yoke Cardi

MMMhhh, non sono del tutto soddisfatta del risultato. Sembra che lo sprone sia troppo lungo e stretto sulle spalle, e le maniche sembrano troppo corte al confronto. Ad ogni modo, dando una rapida occhiata agli altri Icelandic su Ravelry non sembrano molto diversi dal mio. Mi sa che mi tocca assolutamente provarlo sul destinatario per farmi un'idea precisa.

MMhhh, not completely satisfied with the final result. It seems that yoke is too deep and narrow on the shoulders, and sleeves too short in comparison. Anyway, giving a fast look on other Icelandic on Ravelry they all are similar to mine. I MUST try it on the recipient to have a more precise idea of how much I like it.

It happens in Sicily, sometimes. January the 9th, 16°C outside temperature. Good for a fast swim with diving suit and fins: DH came back with the usual tale of a huge octopus he has struggled with for 10 minutes without being able to tear it out the reef. The right goodnight story for kids...

Il paese sembra addormentato, come in una favola. Tutte le barche più grosse sono sul molo per i controlli annuali.

Rischi professionali (Stash busting risks)

Ho cominciato questo paio di guantini senza dita con l'obiettivo di disfarmi di un pò di rimasugli di lana. Lo schema diceva che bastavano 50 gr di lana in colore contrastante per il disegno ed io ho scelto un gomitolo di filato in oro. Alla fine del primo guantino però il gomitolo è praticamente esaurito. Ho controllato su Ravelry: il gomitolo è da 25 gr. Impossibile recuperarne un altro nei negozi di lana della città. Alla fine ne ho comprato uno simile, ma non sono proprio certa che non si vedrà la differenza. Mi viene una domanda: ma se per disfarmi di due quasi mezzi gomitoli ne devo comprare uno nuovo il sistema funziona?

I've started this pair of fingerless mitts with the aim of stash busting a bit: the pattern called for 50 gr. of contrast color and I've chosen a golden yarn, Ornaghi Sax. Unfortunately, at the end of first mitt the ball is almost entirely consumed. I checked on Ravelry: it is a 25 gr ball. Impossible to find another ball in local yarn shops. I've found a similar yarn, but I'm not sure if the difference will be visible. I have an answer: if I have to buy a new ball to stash bust of almost half two, is the process working?
